Yesterday we blogged about possible cutbacks/freezes for the lead actors employed by CBS. Today they following Blind Item popped up on the Internet. Coincidence? Maybe. However, interesting enough for us to be mentioned here. There is a hint about the advanced age of the actor and his less than appealing looks.
There is a hint about the actor being overly dramatic and irritating. Clues that fit David Caruso to the T. The guesses from commenters/readers are like echos resounding through the woods....It is probably David Caruso.....It is probably David Caruso....
....Which dramatic actor is irritating producers with his salary demands? In this economy, many actors on shows with solid ratings are foregoing the usual demands for raises in order to keep their cast and crew intact and their show in production. Not this guy. He is asking producers to almost double his pay. If he doesn’t back down soon, he will find himself getting replaced by someone younger and (hopefully) better looking.... *

He's complained PLENTY about funds. Probably EVERY year BUT he knows that he doesn't need an NYPDB sequel.
Now ALL that said. He's been losin' it (health & his mind even more), in my opinion, and he could very well, unconsciously, have his reps push too far on his behalf (because of his complaints).
It depends on how the reps handle it.
ALSO, things are financially stressed out for him that he could CRACK, uh, MORE.
Here's what makes me skeptical with his "MOUSE" candidacy:
Should he battle for funds & get fired.. he won't be able to work TV for at least 3 years. Something called a, contract stipulation (aka "fine print"). Thank you, for that mean 'left hook' CBS.

Well, I see it this way: he knows Ann Donahue and Co kiss his ass. Why not trying how far he can go? He knows AD kisses the ground he walks on. And when producers put the screws on him he will pull back. I think, this is a "Caruso's testing the waters again".
